Comcast Is Building a $50 Million USD eSports Arena in Philadelphia

Professional gamers like Ninja will soon have a more traditional venue akin to other sports — its own dedicated stadium. Comcast has announced it will construct a $50 million USD 60,000-square-foot arena made for the explicit use of hosting eSports events.

The 3,500 person-seater, set to arrive in 2021, will rest in Philadelphia in the city’s 47-acre stadium complex only a block down from where the Philadelphia Eagles play. The arena will be home to Comcast’s Overwatch team Fusion, and will serve as an East Coast eSports hub.

Although the first eSports Stadium belongs to the 100,000-square foot facility in Texas, this will be the first arena built specifically from the ground up for pro-gaming.
