Meek Mill, Roc Nation, & Puma To Renovate Basketball Court In North Philadelphia
Meek Mill is continuing to give back to his community. The Atlantic Records artist is planning to refurbish the basketball court at East Fairmount Park in his hometown of Philadelphia.
“North Philly will always be home, so it’s special to partner with Puma, Roc Nation, and Project Backboard to give my community a fresh new basketball court,” says Meek. “When kids go to East Fairmount Park, they deserve to ball in the best conditions possible, so I’m glad they’ll have that opportunity now.”
The Dreams and Nightmares creator will be making a special appearance at the 69th Street Foot Locker on October 11 at noon ET. The first ten people to purchase Puma’s new signature basketball sneaker – the Clyde Court Disrupt - will receive a VIP wristband to attend a private event with Mill’s family and friends.
Puma Hoops is also working with Michael Bivins, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, G Herbo, and Nipsey Hussle to elevate basketball culture in their respective communities. Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier, Phoenix Suns center DeAndre Ayton, and New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox are contributing to the program as well.
Bivins and Rozier are taking part in the “Rep Your School Peace Basketball Jamboree.” The event is scheduled for October 14 at Boston’s Madison Park High School’s gymnasium.
